Exactly 3 years ago, my neighbor brought a pretty girl into the world and for the first time, I watched a baby grow; I started by carrying her(she couldn’t be backed yet), to backing her with her legs straightened(after a few weeks), then to backing her properly(with her legs folded in). Then she started crawling, to making sounds, to sitting, to standing, to walking, then speaking. All these developments took about 1year and 2months and I was baffled how she grew so much.
How her mum had to purchase new clothes because her previous ones were getting even tighter and a little discomforting,
How we started parking her hair in segments because it started looking bushy,
How we had to struggle to hear her talk when she speaks with her feeble voice,
How her parents decided to register her in a school because she had gotten to the required age,
How she now runs around, joking, speaking, and even shouting at me like she can beat me,
I watched you grow to this stage young lady,
Every single process, so beautiful!
Life in itself is a process, take a chill pill.
One step at a time is all it takes to get you there.Emily Dickinson
Emily said it all in her quote, one step at a time. If you skip a process, you won’t get your desired result, it might be close, it might look like it, but if it’s not it, it’s not it.
Some time ago, cooking was something I dreaded doing because I can’t imagine cooking for 2-4hours end up eating for about 10-20mins. Like why?? Fun fact, I loved good food but can’t be me going through all the stress of cooking. When I eventually decide to cook and skip some steps to save time, does the meal come out good? Yes! Will it be at its best? Definitely not.
That’s exactly how most of us are, we love the result but dread the prices to be paid to achieve success and greatness so we look at someone who has the result we desire and start behaving like him/her. You know that you have all it takes to be whoever you want to be, why imitate someone else? Don’t be a mere counterfeit. Go through the stress now, you’d be glad you did.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:Isaiah 28:10(KJV)
You can’t afford to miss training, don’t skip classes. We have so many young ones out there who think “education na scam”, I’d love to talk about that in another post(this is a bit too long already). If it wasn’t as important, scriptures won’t mention it twice.
